This page is intended to provide updates for ongoing projects.  Some are in active production, others are mere concepts (I'm really good at the concept part).  As is often the case, I generally bite off more than I can possibly chew, but always having something in the works keeps me moving and helps keep me off the streets and out of the bars.  Haha

 "A Matter of Time"

This is the first in the Glenn Matter series.
Private investigator Glenn Matter becomes embroiled in finding the truth about the death of a wealthy retired corporate executive that police have written off as suicide.  Glenn’s partner is a former school teacher named Kat MacGregor with whom he also has a personal relationship.  Kat disappears every June without a trace only to reappear again in August amid much speculation on the part of the locals as to what it is that she does every summer and where she does it.  
Through Glenn’s efforts in proving to the police that what they’ve determined as a suicide was actually murder, he and Kat find themselves increasingly at the center of a much larger criminal conspiracy involving: evidence of a $175 million stash of gold and diamonds that dates to colonial southwestern Africa; the complicity and eventual murder of a local police detective; and, an unknown assassin determined to see Glenn’s life (and interest in the case) terminated. He juggles his work on the case with trying to determine the “what” and “where” of Kat’s summertime adventures.    
“A Matter of Time” is the first installment of a multi-book series that follows the adventures of Glenn and Kat.

Second in the Glenn Matter Novels.  The story delves into the heartbreaking role that dissociative identity disorder (fugue) can have on families. Wrapped around that is a mystery that dogs Glenn Matter to near death. Also, begs the question as to whether the puzzle of Kat MacGregor's secret summer trips finally be revealed?
Expected completion is
December 2023.

"Leave Me to Lie Out on the Sand-Sage Prairie"

I've been toting around the beginnings of this book since 1988 and still have it only barely started.  It's a historical novel set in the Oklahoma Territory in the late-1800's and early-1900's.  The main character is Temple Houston, youngest son of Sam Houston (of Texas fame).  Unlike a lot of the authors who have written about Temple, I won't sugarcoat it.  He was a bad drunk, a womanizer, and a little too quick to make a point with the business end of a Colt Peacemaker.  The other side of that coin is that by most accounts he was a brilliant lawyer and gifted orator.  Expected completion is whenever I damn well please.  

Untitled Project

This will be a comprehensive history of Northwest Oklahoma. A collaborative effort, this is a huge undertaking and we're looking at it as a follow-on to "Below Devil's Gap" by Louise B. James. Hope to have this finished before the end of 2025.
